If you haven’t seen it already, Demon Media are preparing to do a charity broadcast from their base of operations at De Montfort University, Leicester.

Over the past two months, students and members of Demon Media have prepared a wide range of television shows, sketches, parodies and performances, as well as a number of popular and familiar quiz and panel shows. These will be coming at you over the course of the event that starts at 5PM on 25th February 2017.

Kicking off it with shows like Tasklord, a show filled with very unique challenges to test the reasoning of our DMU students, Lip Sync Battle, where many DemonFM and Demon TV personalities will battle it out in time to some well known popular music tracks and Impractical Jokers, where we send a group of miscreants to cause trouble and havoc on De Montfort University campus.

And we’ve done all of these shows and challenges in aid of two very important and special charities; Mind and Coping With Cancer so please make sure you donate by going to greatragchallenge.co.uk/donate.

We’re going LIVE on our charity broadcast from our Facebook page (facebook.com/demonmedia) and on DemonTV’s YouTube Channel (youtube.com/user/demontv2).

Press Release

The Great RAG Challenge is a marathon charity broadcast, performed by Demon Media of De Montfort University, that will turn the YouTube channel belonging to Demon TV into a live television station for up to 24 hours.

Taking influence from existing charity events such as Children in Need, Red Nose Day, and the Rooster Teeth Extra Life stream, the marathon broadcast will consist of both live and prerecorded shows that will be ‘mock’ versions of currently existing shows. Examples of content include “Would I Fib To You”, a student-adapted version of the popular TV show “Would I Lie To You”, as well as adapted versions of Demon TV content such as the new factual show “Late News”.

As one of the most complex and intricate broadcasts that Demon Media have attempted to date, this will see all three Demon Media strands (Demon TV, DemonFM and The Demon Magazine) work closely together to distribute content across YouTube, FM Radio and Online publishing platforms.

The broadcast will be in aid of the charities ‘Mind’ and ‘Coping with Cancer’. Mind is a charity that specialises in helping those experiencing mental health problems, and Coping with Cancer is a charity local to Leicester that aims to provide support and friendship to those suffering with cancer.

The date for the broadcast is 25rd February – 26th February 2017, with a broadcast start time of 5pm.

For more information, the Executive Producer of the event can be contacted at daniel.wildman@dmu.ac.uk.
