Lacrosse 2

Spotlight on Sport: Lacrosse

Our Men’s 1st team play in the BUCS league, as well as regular tournaments and this year we have a women’s development squad which will play in friendlies and development tournaments. Both teams also have regular training sessions every week. All players are welcome regardless of previous experience! Every Wednesday we have fun and entertaining socials with both men’s and women’s teams, often with different themes and games, and in March we are heading to Croatia on tour for one of the best weeks of your life!

Varsity is always the biggest game on the calendar, and this year is no different, we’ll once again be hoping to face up to Leicester Uni and claim a historic victory.

What were the club’s accomplishments last season?

Mens had our best varsity result against UOL and reached the Semi-finals of the BUCS cup last season.

What is your most memorable moment from last season?

The 2nd half of Varsity in which our Captain scored 2 goals, the perfect send-off in his last game before he graduated.

What are your aspirations for this season?

We want men’s to place top 3 in BUCS league and win Varsity. We want the women’s team to develop.

How much does it cost to join your club?

It doesn’t cost much to join DMU Lacrosse, all you need to join is an active card and lacrosse sticks are loaned for a £10 deposit and all essential kit is provided for training and match days.

Why should students join your club?

Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and it’s fast, physical and fun. Many people have not heard of it when they start out, but they soon catch the Lacrosse bug and can’t get enough!

To join DMU Lacrosse, find them at the Sports and Societies Fair on Thursday 1st October or get in touch via their links below:
