As of last year we updated our mantra, the end goal where we see our society, and if that sounds like something you want to get involved in, we’d be more than happy to have you on board.
“The DMU Cocktail Society is an enthusiastic group of individuals who all share a love of cocktails and the vibrant bar industry.
We are a workshop based society, which means you will learn all about bartending and cocktails.
We start off with basic bar skills, progressing to making your favourite cocktails, and eventually a much more in-depth experience comes into play. This includes learning the history of classic cocktails behind every spirit family which will prepare you for a real cocktail competition!
We host and participate in events throughout the year where you will get the chance to gain first hand bartending experience.
As part of the DMU Cocktail Society, you are entitled to a membership in the Leicester Bartender Association (L.B.A.) which grants you access into a small part of this wonderful industry. You will meet brand representatives from nearly every brand imaginable and have detailed training sessions with them and their product; which often leads to a great night out!
Speaking of great nights out, we host fairly regular socials, including joint ventures with other societies at DMU and even other cocktail societies around the country.
We are looking for committed people that want to learn a new trade, meet like-minded people, and have a good time.
We are the DMU Cocktail Society: we are more than just drinking.”
